Tony Pulis is trying to hijack Branislav Ivanovic’s move from Chelsea to Zenit St Petersburg.
The 32-year-old defender is believed to have played his last game for the league leaders, coming off the bench to score in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Brentford on Saturday.
Ivanovic, who has six months left on his contract, has been in talks with Zenit for some time with the Premier League leaders willing to let him leave on a free transfer this month.
But Pulis is a huge fan and still believes the right-back, who can also play at centre-back, still has a lot to offer in the top flight. Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce is also a big admirer.
